Hadith 1047
Narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say in the year of the conquest of Makkah: “Indeed, Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) have forbidden the sale of alcohol, dead animals, and idols.” The people asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about the fat of a dead animal? For it is used to caulk ships and is also unlawful.” Then at that time, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “May Allah destroy the Jews! When Allah made fat unlawful for them, they melted it, sold it, and consumed its price.”
