Hadith 784
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companions, after combing their hair, applying oil, wearing a sheet, and tying a waist-wrapper, set out from Madinah. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not prohibit wearing any kind of sheet or waist-wrapper except for clothes dyed with saffron from which saffron would fall onto the body. Then in the morning, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted his ride at Dhul-Hulaifah, and when he reached (the place) Bayda, his companions proclaimed the Talbiyah and put garlands on the necks of their sacrificial animals, and at that time, five days of the month of Dhul-Qa'dah remained. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached Makkah on the fourth of Dhul-Hijjah, performed Tawaf of the Ka'bah, and performed Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, and he did not come out of Ihram because of his sacrificial animals, as he had already put garlands on their necks. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed at the elevated place of Makkah near (the place) Hajun, and he was in the state of Ihram for Hajj. After performing Tawaf, he did not go near the Ka'bah until he returned from Arafah. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered his companions to perform Tawaf of the Ka'bah and Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, then cut their hair and come out of Ihram. But this command was only for the one who did not have a sacrificial animal with him or had not put a garland on the animal's neck, and after cutting the hair, whoever had his wife with him, it became permissible for him to have intercourse, apply perfume, and wear clothes.
