Hadith 753
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "A poor person is not the one who goes around to people and gets a morsel or two, or a date or two (i.e., who fills his stomach by begging morsel by morsel from people), but the poor person is the one who does not have enough to suffice him, yet he is modest and does not beg persistently from people."
