Hadith 662
´Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says that` we went with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to Abu Saif the blacksmith, and he (Abu Saif) was the foster father of (the Messenger of Allah’s son) Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him). So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), kissed him, and placed his blessed face upon him. Then after that, we went to Abu Saif’s house and Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him) was in the throes of death. The eyes of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) became filled with tears. So Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, “O Messenger of Allah! (Do you weep?)” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied: “O Ibn Awf! This is a mercy.” Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wept more and said: “The eye weeps and the heart grieves, but we do not say except that which pleases our Lord. And O Ibrahim! We are greatly grieved at your separation.”
