Hadith 428
Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to observe a pause between the Takbir and the recitation (of the Qur'an). I said, "O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be sacrificed for you, what do you recite during the pause between the Takbir and the recitation?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I say (this supplication): O Allah! Set a distance between me and my sins as You have set a distance between the East and the West. O Allah! Purify me from sins as a white garment is cleansed from dirt. O Allah! Wash away my sins with water, snow, and hail."
