Hadith 351
The hadith of Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delayed the ‘Isha prayer, so Amir al-Mu’minin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) called out to him. This has been mentioned earlier (see the Book: Statement of the Times of Prayer... Chapter: The Virtue of the ‘Isha Prayer...). In this narration, she adds that the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) used to offer the (‘Isha) prayer after the disappearance of the twilight until the first third of the night. And in the narration of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): “The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out, as if I am looking at him at that moment, water was dripping from his blessed head and he had his hand placed on his blessed head, so he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘If I did not consider it hard upon my Ummah, I would have certainly commanded them to offer the ‘Isha prayer in this manner (at this time).’”

Hadith 352
`Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that` when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his hand on his head, he separated his fingers a little and placed the tips of his fingers on one side of his head. Then, joining them together, he drew them across his head in such a way that his thumb reached his earlobe, near the edge of his beard by his face. He neither delayed nor hurried; he did exactly as I have described to you.
