Hadith 320
´Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him)` was praying on Friday facing something that concealed him from the people. Then a young man from (the tribe of) Banu Abi Mu‘ayt wanted to pass in front of him, so Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id (may Allah be pleased with him) pushed him in the chest. The young man did not find any way to pass except in front of him, so again he tried to pass, and Abu Sa‘id (may Allah be pleased with him) pushed him even harder than before. At this, the young man insulted Abu Sa‘id (may Allah be pleased with him). After that, he went to Marwan and complained to him about what had happened with Abu Sa‘id (may Allah be pleased with him), and after him, Abu Sa‘id (may Allah be pleased with him) also went to Marwan. So Marwan said, “O Abu Sa‘id! What is the matter between you and your brother’s son?” Abu Sa‘id (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: ‘When any one of you prays towards something that screens him from the people, and someone wants to pass in front of him, he should push him away, and if he refuses, then he should fight him, for he is only a devil.’”
