‘Sayyiduna Hassan bin Thabit Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) asked Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) for testimony, saying: “I ask you by Allah, (tell me) did you hear from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he used to say to me: ‘O Hassan! Respond on behalf of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) (to the polytheists), O Allah! Support Hassan with the Holy Spirit.’” So Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Yes (I heard it).”
