Hadith 271
Narrated from Ummul Momineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her): Umm Habiba and Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with them) saw a church in Abyssinia in which there were pictures. They mentioned this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and he said: "When a righteous man among those people died, they would build a mosque over his grave and make these pictures in it. These people are the worst of creatures in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection."

Hadith 272
Narrated Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to Madinah (after migrating), he stayed in the upper part of Madinah among a tribe called Banu Amr bin Awf, and he stayed among those people for fourteen nights. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent for Banu Najjar, so they came with their swords hanging. Now, it is as if I am looking at the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he is on his mount and Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) is riding behind him, and the group of Banu Najjar is around the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), until he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) dismounted at the house of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) and unloaded his belongings. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) liked that wherever the time for prayer came, he would pray there, and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would also pray in the places where goats were kept. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered the construction of a mosque. Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent for the people of Banu Najjar and said: "O Banu Najjar! Sell me this garden of yours." They replied, "By Allah! We will not take its price except from Allah, the Mighty and Majestic." Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: In that (garden) were things I am telling you about, that is, graves of polytheists, ruins, and date-palm trees. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered that the graves of the polytheists be dug up. Then he ordered that the ruins be leveled and the trees be cut down, and the date-palm trees were set up in the direction of the qiblah of the mosque, and its enclosure was made with stones. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) began to bring stones, reciting rajaz verses, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was with them and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would say: "The real benefit is the benefit of the Hereafter. O Allah, grant forgiveness to the Ansar and the Muhajirin."
