Hadith 208
Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and I used to perform ghusl (ritual bath) from a single vessel while we were both in a state of janabah (major ritual impurity). During my menstruation, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would instruct me, so I would wear (tie) an izar (lower garment), then he would have physical contact with me (that is, our bodies would touch, but he would not have intercourse). And while in i'tikaf (spiritual retreat), he would extend his blessed head towards me and I would wash it, even though I was menstruating.

Hadith 209
Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When any of us women would be menstruating and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wished to be intimate with her, he would instruct her to wear an izar (lower garment) during the period of menstruation (at the time of its intensity and dominance), then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would be intimate with her (but would not have intercourse). Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Who among you can control his desire as much as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to control his desire?
