Hadith 188
The Mother of the Believers, Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her), was asked about the manner of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) bathing. She called for a vessel containing about one sa’ (of water), and bathed with it, pouring water over her head, and there was a thick curtain between the Mother of the Believers and the questioner.

Hadith 189
A person asked Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) about performing ghusl (ritual bath) — how much water should be used. He replied, "One sa’ (measure) of water is enough for you." The person said, "It is not enough for me." Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "One sa’ of water was enough for someone whose hair was thicker than yours and who was better than you (meaning the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him)." Then Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) led us in prayer wearing only a single garment.
