Mukhtasar Bukhari

Narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) that people asked him with what was the wound of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) treated. He replied that now there is no one left who knows more about it than me. (He then explained that) Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to bring water in his shield, and Sayyidah Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her) used to wash the blood from the blessed face of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Then a mat was brought and burnt, and (the ashes) were filled into the wound of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
