Hadith 139
Sayyiduna Zaid bin Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Commander of the Faithful, Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), "Tell me, if (a person) has intercourse but there is no ejaculation, what is the ruling?" So Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "He should perform ablution as he does for prayer and wash his private part." Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) says, "I heard this issue from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." (Sayyiduna Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him), the narrator of the hadith, says that) then I asked this issue to Ali, Zubair, Talha, and Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with them), and they (also) gave the same ruling to that person.

Hadith 140
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent a man to an Ansari person (to call him), so he came while water (of bathing) was dripping from his head. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Perhaps we hurried you (in calling you)?" He replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When there is haste or (for some other reason) there is no ejaculation, then only ablution (wudu) is obligatory upon you (ghusl is not obligatory)." (But this ruling is abrogated.)
