Hadith 103
Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by fighting in the way of Allah? For some of us fight out of anger and some fight for (personal or tribal) pride." So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) raised his (blessed) head towards him (to pay attention), and (the narrator says) he raised his head because the man was standing. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever fights so that the word of Allah is exalted (and His word becomes supreme), then he is fighting in the way of Allah."
