Hadith 77
Narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him):
He married the daughter of Abu Ihab bin Aziz. After that, a woman came and stated that she had suckled Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) and the girl whom Uqbah had married (thus, both are foster brother and sister and their marriage is not valid). Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I do not know that you have suckled me, nor have you ever informed me of this before." Then Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) rode (from Makkah) to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in Madinah and asked him (about this issue). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "How (can you now have marital relations with her), when it has been stated (which creates doubt of prohibition)?" So Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) separated from the woman, and she married another man.
