Hadith 54
´Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that (one day) while the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in a gathering and speaking to the people, a Bedouin came to him and asked, "When will the Hour (Day of Judgment) be established?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not reply to him and continued speaking. Upon this, some people said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had heard what he said but disliked it and therefore did not answer, while others said that he had not heard it. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished his speech, he said, "Where is the questioner?" I think these were the words after that: "The one who asked about the Hour?" The questioner said, "O Messenger of Allah! Here I am." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "When trust is lost, then await the Hour (i.e., the Day of Judgment is near)." He asked, "How will trust be lost?" He replied, "When matters are entrusted to those who are not qualified, then await the Hour."
