Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) established brotherhood between Sayyiduna Salman and Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with them). Because of this, (one day) Salman went to visit Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) and found Umm Darda in a very distressed state. He asked her, "How are you?" She replied, "Your brother Abu Darda has no need for the world anymore." Meanwhile, Abu Darda also arrived and prepared food for Salman and said to him, "Eat, I am fasting." Salman replied, "I will not eat until you eat as well." Eventually, Abu Darda broke his fast and ate with Salman. Then, when night came, Abu Darda stood up to pray. Salman said, "Sleep for now." So he slept. After a little while, he tried to get up, but Salman said, "Sleep for now." Then, when the last part of the night came, Salman said, "Now get up!" So both of them prayed. Then Salman said to Abu Darda, "Indeed, your Lord has a right over you, your soul has a right over you, and your wife has a right over you, so give each one who has a right their due." Then Abu Darda came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and related the entire incident to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Salman has spoken the truth." (May Allah be pleased with them all)
