Hadith 841

Narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: Whoever sends a sacrificial animal to the Ka'bah, all those things become forbidden for him which are forbidden for a pilgrim, until his sacrifice is offered. Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: What Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) has said is not correct, because I myself tied the garlands of the sacrificial animals of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with my own hands. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) put those garlands on the animals with his own hands, then sent those animals along with my father (Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him), but nothing which Allah had made lawful for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) became forbidden for him until the sacrifice of the animals.
