Hadith 837

‘Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) offered the Fajr prayer at Muzdalifah, then remained there. After that he said: “The polytheists would not depart from here until the sun had risen, and they used to say: ‘O Thubair!’ (the name of a mountain) ‘Shine with the rays of the sun.’ And indeed, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) opposed them in this matter.” After that, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) departed before the sun had risen.
