Narrated Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him): We performed (Hajj) Tamattu‘ during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and the same command regarding it was revealed in the Qur’an, but a person said whatever he wished according to his own opinion.
