Hadith 791

Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that we set out from Madinah with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and we had only the intention of Hajj (i.e., we had put on the Ihram for Hajj). Then, when we reached Makkah and had performed the Tawaf of the Ka’bah, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered that whoever did not have a sacrificial animal should come out of the state of Ihram. So those who did not have a sacrificial animal came out of Ihram, and the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also did not have a sacrificial animal, so they too came out of Ihram. Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that due to menstruation, I could not perform the Tawaf of the House (Ka’bah). When the night of Hasab came, I said, “O Messenger of Allah! People will return after performing both Umrah and Hajj, but I will return after performing only Hajj.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Did you not perform Tawaf when you came to Makkah?” I said, “No.” So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Go with your brother to Tan’eem, put on the Ihram for Umrah from there, and after completing the Umrah, meet us at such-and-such place.” Umm al-Mu’minin Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said, “I think I am holding all of you back.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “O barren one, did you not perform Tawaf on the day of sacrifice?” Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said, “Yes, I did.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Then there is no harm, let us go.”
