Hadith 774

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fixed Dhu’l-Hulayfah as the miqat for the people of Madinah, Juhfah for the people of Syria, Qarn al-Manazil for the people of Najd, and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. These places are miqat for the residents of those places as well. And whoever comes from a place other than these, intending Hajj or Umrah, and passes by these (places), then these are also his miqat. Then, whoever lives closer to Makkah than these places, he should assume ihram from where he sets out. Similarly, the people of Makkah should assume ihram from Makkah itself.
