Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "It is obligatory for every Muslim to give charity." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What if someone is not able to do so?" He (peace be upon him) said: "He should work with his hands, benefit himself, and give charity." The people asked, "What if he is not able to do that either?" He (peace be upon him) said: "He should help a needy and oppressed person." The people asked, "What if he is not able to do that either?" He (peace be upon him) said: "Then he should do good and refrain from evil; this is charity for him."
