Hadith 707

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever is given wealth by Allah and does not pay its zakat, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be made into a bald snake resembling him, with venomous foam at the corners of its mouth. That snake will be made into a collar for his neck on the Day of Resurrection, then it will bite his jaws and say: 'I am your wealth, I am your treasure.'" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited this verse number "180" of Surah Al-Imran: "And let not those who are miserly with what Allah has given them of His bounty think that it is good for them. Rather, it is bad for them. That with which they were miserly will be made to encircle their necks on the Day of Resurrection."
