`Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both)` offered the funeral prayer and he recited Surah Al-Fatihah (in a loud voice) and said, (I recited it aloud) so that you may know that reciting Surah Al-Fatihah in the funeral prayer is Sunnah.
