Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) received the news of the martyrdom of Zaid bin Harithah, Ja’far, and Abdullah bin Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with them), he sat down. The effect of grief was visible on his face, and I was watching through a crack in the door. Meanwhile, a person came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned the women of Sayyiduna Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him) and their weeping. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to stop them. Accordingly, he went and stopped them. Then he came again to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said that they are not listening. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Stop them.” So he went and stopped them. Then for the third time, he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah! They have overpowered me, they are not listening to me.” Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Go and put dust in their mouths.”
