Hadith 567

`Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) says` (on one occasion) there was a solar eclipse, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up in fear, fearing that perhaps the Day of Judgment might come. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to the mosque and performed prayer with very long standing, bowing, and prostration; I have never seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pray such a lengthy prayer. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "These are signs which Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, sends to frighten His servants. It does not happen because of anyone's death nor because of anyone's life, but through it Allah frightens His servants. Therefore, when you see it, turn towards the remembrance of Allah, supplicate to Him, and seek forgiveness from Him."
