Umm al-Mu'minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came and I had two girls with me who were singing about the battle of Bu'ath. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) lay down and turned his face away. Then Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) came and scolded me and said, "Musical instruments of Satan in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) looked towards him and said, "Leave them." Then when Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) became occupied with another task, I signaled to the two girls and they left. It was the day of Eid and the Abyssinians were playing with shields and spears. Either I said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), or the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me, "Do you want to watch this play?" I said, "Yes." So he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made me stand behind him. My cheek was touching his (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cheek. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was saying, "Play, play, O Banu Arfidah." Until when I became bored, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Enough?" I said, "Yes." He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Go."
