Mukhtasar Bukhari

Umm al-Mu'mineen Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer and said the salam, as soon as he had completed his salam, the women would stand up (and leave), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) would remain seated for a short while before standing up himself (that is, he would stay seated there). Imam Zuhri says: I think—and full knowledge is with Allah Almighty—that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would remain seated only so that the women could leave and the men, after finishing the prayer, would not encounter them.
