Mukhtasar Bukhari

Narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): He describes the state when the revelation ceased, and also says that (the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said that one day) while I was walking, suddenly I heard a voice from the sky. I raised my gaze and (what did I see?) the same angel who had come to me in the cave of Hira, sitting on a chair suspended between the earth and the sky. I was frightened by (seeing) him. Then I returned and (upon reaching home) said, "Cover me with a blanket, cover me with a blanket." Then (at that moment) Allah Almighty revealed these verses: "O you who covers himself [with a garment], arise and warn, and magnify your Lord, and purify your garments, and shun uncleanliness (i.e., the worship of idols)." (Al-Muddathir: 1-5)
