Hadith 2228

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) has added to the lengthy hadith about the intercession of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), which has already been mentioned before, as follows:
"So the people will go to ‘Isa (peace be upon him) (for intercession). He will say, 'I am not worthy of it, but you should go to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).' So the people will come to me, and I will say, 'Yes, I am worthy of it,' and then I will seek permission to present myself before my Lord. I will be granted permission, and He will inspire me with praises and glorifications with which I will praise Him, and those (praises) I do not remember now. And I will fall down in prostration before Him. It will be said, 'O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, you will be heard; ask, you will be given; and intercede, your intercession will be accepted.' I will say, 'O my Lord! My Ummah, my Ummah.' It will be said, 'Take out from Hell whoever has faith equal to a grain of barley in his heart.' So I will go and take them out, and then return, and again I will praise and glorify Him with the same praises, and fall down in prostration. It will be said, 'O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, you will be heard; ask, you will be given; and intercede, your intercession will be accepted.' I will say, 'O my Lord! My Ummah, my Ummah.' It will be said, 'Take out from Hell whoever has faith equal to a particle or a mustard seed in his heart.' So I will go and take them out, and then return, and again I will praise and glorify Him with the same praises, and fall down in prostration. It will be said, 'O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, you will be heard; ask, you will be given; and intercede, your intercession will be accepted.' I will say, 'O my Lord! My Ummah, my Ummah.' It will be said, 'Go and take out from Hell those in whose hearts is even less than a mustard seed, very little faith.' So I will go and take them out as well."
