Hadith 2161

Narrated from Amir al-Mu’minin Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) there was a man named Abdullah, and people used to call him Himar, Himar. This man used to make the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) laugh, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had punished him for drinking alcohol. Then one day he was brought before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) (because he had drunk alcohol), and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered that he be punished again. One of those present said, “O Allah! Curse him, how often he is brought before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for drinking alcohol.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Do not curse him. By Allah, I know that he loves Allah and His Messenger.”
