Hadith 214

Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I entered into Ihram with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for the Farewell Hajj. I was among those who intended (to perform) Tamattu' Hajj and had not brought a sacrificial animal with them. Then she said that she became menstruating and did not become pure until the night of Arafah. Then she submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! This is the night of the day of Arafah and I had intended Tamattu' with Umrah." So the Messenger of Allah said to her: "Undo your hair (Ihram), comb your hair, and refrain from your Umrah (and perform Hajj)." So I did (as he said). Then when I had completed Hajj, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Abdur Rahman (bin Abi Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him) on the night of Hasbah, and he took me to perform Umrah from Tan'eem in place of the Umrah for which I had entered into Ihram but had not performed.
