Mukhtasar Bukhari

Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out on the day of Eid al-Adha or Eid al-Fitr and passed by a group of women (in the Eid prayer ground). He said: "O women! Give charity, for I have seen that you are the majority of the inhabitants of Hell." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Why is that?" He replied: "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion who can overcome the wisdom of a resolute man than you." The women asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is the deficiency in our intelligence and religion?" He said: "Is not the testimony of a woman equal to half the testimony of a man (according to Islamic law)?" They replied, "Yes." He said: "That is the deficiency in her intelligence. And is it not the case that when a woman menstruates, she neither prays nor fasts?" They replied, "Yes." He said: "That is the deficiency in her religion."
