`Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated two hadiths: one he narrated from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and the other is his own saying. He said, "A believer considers his sins as if he is sitting under a mountain, fearing that it might fall upon him, while a wicked person considers his sin as if a fly passed over his nose." The narrator Abu Shahab indicated with his hand and then said, "Allah is even more pleased with the repentance of His servant than a person who reaches a place where he fears for his life (where food and the like are not available), and he falls asleep. When he wakes up, he finds that the mount on which his food and drink were kept is lost. Then hunger and thirst overpower him, or as Allah wills (the narrator is in doubt), and he prays (to Allah) that he may reach his home. Then (at the same place where he was lying) he goes to sleep, and when he wakes up suddenly, he sees that his mount (with all the provisions) is with him."
