Umm al-Mu'mineen Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: While I was lying with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) under a single sheet, suddenly I began menstruating, so I quietly slipped away and managed my menstrual clothes. He asked, "Have you started menstruating (experienced nifas/menstruation)?" I replied, "Yes." Then he called me, and I lay with him under the same sheet.
