The hadith of Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that "Abu Taybah performed cupping for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." (In the Book: Regarding Buying and Selling... Chapter: Statement about the Profession of the Cupper... this hadith has already been mentioned, and at the end of this hadith it is stated that) Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Cupping and Indian costus are among your best remedies." And he said: "Do not cause pain to your children by pressing the palate in cases of throat disease (i.e., diphtheria), rather use costus."
