Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): (Once) the Iqamah for prayer was pronounced and the rows were straightened. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to us, and when he stood at his place for leading the prayer, he remembered that he was in a state of Janabah (impurity). He said to us: "Stay in your places." Then he returned, performed Ghusl (ritual bath), and then came back to us while water was dripping from his head. Then he pronounced the Takbir (opening Takbir), and we all prayed with him.
