It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zam’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delivering a sermon, and in the sermon, he mentioned (the she-camel of Prophet Salih, peace be upon him) and the one who killed it. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) explained the verse: “When the most wretched of them rose up” (ash-Shams: 12), saying that the responsibility for killing the she-camel was taken by a man who, in his speech, was strong and powerful like Abu Zam’ah (may Allah be pleased with him), and that man was very wicked and wretched. Then he mentioned women: “None of you should do such a thing that he beats his wife like a slave with a whip and then sleeps with her in the evening.” Then he forbade people from laughing at passing wind (breaking wind) and said: “Why do people laugh at something which they themselves do?” In another narration, it is stated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “(That man) was like Abu Zam’ah, the uncle of Zubair bin al-Awwam.”
