Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When Allah finished creating all creation, the womb (kinship, in a tangible form) stood up and held onto its Lord. Allah said: 'Stop.' It said: 'I seek Your protection, lest anyone should sever me (break ties).' Allah said: 'Are you not pleased that I will keep ties with the one who keeps ties with you, and I will sever the one who severs you?' It said: 'Yes (do so with me).' Allah said: '(It will be) as you wish.' Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If you wish, you may recite this verse in support of it: 'And it is not far from you that if you are given authority, you will cause corruption in the land and sever ties of kinship.' This points to the same matter."
