Hadith 1770

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A scholar from among the Jewish scholars came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, “O Muhammad! We find it written in the Torah that Allah, on the Day of Resurrection, will place all the heavens on one finger, all the earths on one finger, all the trees on one finger, all the water and moist soil on one finger, and all the creatures on one finger, then He will say: ‘I am the King.’” Upon hearing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled so much that his teeth became visible, confirming the words of that scholar. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: “And they did not appraise Allah with true appraisal as is due to Him...” (Az-Zumar: 67) (to the end). (The conclusion is that Allah’s worth is limitless and cannot be estimated.)
