Hadith 173

‘Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that some people from (the tribe of) ‘Ukl or ‘Uraynah came, and the climate of Madinah did not suit them, so they became ill in Madinah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered that they be given some camels and also ordered that they drink their urine and milk. So they went (to the pasture) and did so. When they recovered, they killed the Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) shepherd and drove away the animals. Early in the day, this news reached the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he sent men in their pursuit. By mid-morning, they were brought (arrested). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered that their hands and feet be cut off, and hot iron rods were passed over their eyes, and they were thrown on the hot stony ground. They would ask for water, but they were not given water (because they too had shown ingratitude).
