Mukhtasar Bukhari

Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A poor person is not the one who goes around with a date or two, or a morsel or two, and is turned away, but the poor person (mentioned in this verse) is the one who refrains from begging." If you want to understand the meaning of 'poor', then recite this verse: "And they do not beg persistently from people."
