Hadith 1682

Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I was in Yemen when I met two men from Yemen, Dhu’l-Kila’ and Dhu’Amr, and I began to talk to them about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Dhu’Amr said to me: If what you are saying about your companion is true, then it has been three days since he passed away. Then both of them came with me to Madinah. On the way, we saw some riders coming from Madinah, so we asked them, and they said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has passed away, and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) has become the unanimously accepted Caliph, and everything else is fine. Both of them (Dhu’l-Kila’ and Dhu’Amr) said: Inform your companion that we came this far; if Allah wills, we will come again. And both of them went back towards Yemen.
