Hadith 1681

The hadith of Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) in this regard that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Will you not relieve me from Dhu al-Khalasah?" has already been mentioned (see the Book of Jihad and the description of battle conditions... Chapter: Burning houses and gardens). In this narration, Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that Dhu al-Khalasah was a place (idol house) of the tribes of Khath'am and Bajilah in Yemen, in which idols were kept and worshipped. (The narrator) said that when Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) reached Yemen, there was a man there who used to draw lots with arrows. Someone said to him that the messenger of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is present here; if he catches you, he will behead you. (The narrator) said that coincidentally, one day while he was drawing lots, Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) reached him and said: "Break them and recite the testimony 'La ilaha illallah' or else I will behead you." The narrator says that the man broke them and recited the testimony.
