Hadith 1632

Narrated Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him): We went out on an expedition with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and we had only one camel for six of us. We would take turns riding it. Our feet became wounded and my feet split open and my toenails fell off, so we would wrap our feet with strips of cloth. That battle was named Dhat ar-Riqa‘ (the battle of patches) for this reason (i.e., the battle of patches and rags), because we wrapped our feet with strips of cloth due to their being split open.
