Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I saw such a thing from Sayyiduna Miqdad bin Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) that if I had attained that thing, I would not have considered any other good deed to be equal to it; it would have been dearest to me. (What happened was that) the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was supplicating against the polytheists, when Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived and said: O Messenger of Allah! We will never say as the people of Musa (peace be upon him) said to him: "You and your Lord go and fight (the enemy)" (__QUR_N__: Surah Al-Ma'idah: 24), rather, we will fight (the enemy) from your right side, your left side, from in front of you, and from behind you. I saw that (upon hearing this) the face of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) began to shine and he became happy.
