Hadith 1335

Sayyiduna Abdullah (bin Mas'ud) (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when, on the day of Hunayn (the Battle of Hunayn), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave some people more (from the spoils of war) than others—such as giving Aqra' bin Habis one hundred camels, and giving 'Uyaynah (may Allah be pleased with him) the same amount, and giving some of the Arab chiefs more as well—a man said, "By Allah! This is a distribution in which there has been no justice," or (he said), "Allah's pleasure has not been intended in this." So I said, "By Allah, I will inform the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about this." So I went to him and informed him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "If Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) do not act justly, then who will act justly? May Allah have mercy on Musa (peace be upon him); he was harmed with even greater than this, and he was patient."
