Ibn Huraij said to (Sayyiduna) Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): "I have seen that (during Tawaf) you do not touch any corner except the two Yemeni corners, and I have seen that you wear Sabti sandals, and I have seen that you dye (your hair or clothes) with yellow color, and I have seen that when you are in Makkah, other people, as soon as they see the (crescent of Dhul-Hijjah), put on Ihram, but you do not put on Ihram until the day of Tarwiyah (the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah)." So Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) replied: "Indeed, I do these things. As for touching the Yemeni corners during Tawaf, I have not seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) touch any corner except these two Yemeni corners. As for the Sabti sandals, indeed, I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wearing such sandals that had no hair on them, and he would perform ablution in those sandals (i.e., he would wash his feet, not wipe over them). Therefore, I like to wear such sandals. As for the yellow color, indeed, I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) dyeing with it. Therefore, I like to dye with it. And as for putting on Ihram, I did not see the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) put on Ihram until his mount moved (i.e., on the eighth day)."
