Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that (one day) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me: "Why do you not relieve me by destroying Dhu al-Khalasah?" Dhu al-Khalasah was an idol-house among the tribe of Khath'am. It was called the Ka'bah of Yemen. Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that then I set out with one hundred and fifty horsemen from the tribe of Ahmas, and all of them had horses, but my feet would not stay firm on the horse. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) struck his hand on my chest until I saw the mark of his fingers on my chest, and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed: "O Allah! Keep them firm, and make them guided and guiding." So they went there and destroyed it and burned it. Then when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was informed of this, the messenger of Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) came and reported to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "By the One Who sent you with the truth, I have come to you at a time when I left it in a state like a hollow camel or a mangy camel." Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed for blessing for the horses and horsemen of the tribe of Ahmas five times.
